It is with deep sadness that I share some news that some of you may not have heard. Sue Alexander, author of such books as Whatever Happened to Uncle Albert?, Behold the Trees, and One More Time, Mama, passed away suddenly and in mid-conversation on July 3, 2008. Sue helped create, sustain and guide the Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators for over three decades — her passion and pride has left an indelible mark on what children read to this day---and what she has taught should serve as hope to children in the future.
